Troubleshooting Glassfish with HADB

Yesterday I played GlassFish 2.1.1 with HADB, there are two servers. First server I have a database status is nonoperational and second server status is stopped. Here workaround that I did.

Database status NonOperational

cypher_2

For this case the solution is quite easy.

  1. Clear database.
    xxx@XXX:/opt/sges211/hadb/4/bin> ./hadbm clear simponi-cab-cluster
Please enter the password for the database system user:***********
Please retype the password for database system user:***********
WARNING: The --dbpassword option is deprecated since it is insecure. Using this option can compromise your password. Please use either the command prompt or the --dbpasswordfile option.
Please enter the password for the admin system user:***********
This command will clear database simponi-cab-cluster. Type "yes" or "y" to confirm this operation, anything else to cancel:Y
    Database simponi-cab-cluster successfully cleared.
  2. Reconfigure DAS server.
    xxx@XXX:/opt/sges211/bin> ./asadmin configure-ha-cluster --hosts cypher,cypher simponi-cab-cluster
Please enter the admin user name>admin
    Please enter the admin password>
    HADBMGMT008:The database, simponi-cab-cluster, already exists

    Command configure-ha-cluster executed successfully.
  3. Restart cluster from admin console

Database status stopped

amnell_2

For the second case is quite unique, the position of the second node in the stopped.

xxx@XXX:/opt/sges211/hadb/4/bin> ./hadbm status --nodes simponi-kb-cluster
Please enter the password for the admin system user:***********
NodeNo HostName Port NodeRole NodeState MirrorNode
0 amnell 15200 unknown stopped n/a
1 amnell 15220 unknown stopped n/a

From the Oracle documentation these nodes should be turned on. But when I tried it on the local machine it’s failed. The solution that I do:

  1. Remove ha cluster.
In my case the admin-server port is 4849 (default 4848)

    xxx@XXX:/opt/sges211/bin> ./asadmin remove-ha-cluster --port=4849 simponi-kb-cluster
Please enter the admin user name>admin
    Please enter the admin password>
    HADBMGMT032:Couldn't stop the database simponi-kb-cluster. Return value: {1}, Message from hadbm: {2} {3}
HADBMGMT010:Delete HA Database succeeded. Message from hadbm: Database simponi-kb-cluster successfully deleted.

    HADBMGMT034:Successfully deleted the resources.

    Command remove-ha-cluster executed successfully.
  2. Reconfigure DAS server.
    xxx@XXX:/opt/sges211/bin> ./asadmin configure-ha-cluster --hosts amnell,amnell --port=4849 simponi-kb-cluster
Please enter the admin user name>admin
    Please enter the admin password>
    Command configure-ha-cluster executed successfully.
  3. Restart cluster from admin console.
